Trailer Rollers Protection

Is there any kind of coating to put on rollers to extend their life? With my boat on a mooring all season the trailer sits out in the sun. Some of the 4" wobbie rubber rollers have to be replaced every year. Years ago, they recommended spraying trailer tires with silicone to protect them from ultra violet light, etc. Would that help rollers?

I would make a cover for them or the whole trailer. That is really your only hope that I can think of. I know those rollers are HUGELY expensive so the time invested in it will be a good thing.

Socks? At the boat yard, a trailer with 40 rollers and socks might look like some poor homeless soul, with a big family, who slept in an abandoned boat was doing his laundry. Here on the Long Island Gold Coast we both would be thrown out of the yard.

Then if I was you I'd dry my tears and bite my lip each year when I bought new rollers. I knew someone that was so anal with a boat he put socks on the rollers just so he wouldn't leave marks on the hull. by the way I'm from LI as well. South shore though, my bloods not as blue
