502/502 Gen VI crate Shortblock
Anyone using these as a basis for your engines? Steel 4.00" crank, 4340 7/16" rods, forged pistons. The only thing I'm concerned about is whether the stock 502/502 hyd roller cam is a good marine cam (.527"/.544", 224 / 234 degrees duration @ 0.050"), i.e. no water reversion with Stainless Marine exhaust. It's only got 9* of overlap at .050".

Are you referring to the Powermax Hyd Roller 168741? 236/244 duration. It's recommended for 10:1+ compression?

I BOUGHT THE MARINE 502/502 CRATE GEN 6. THE CAM IS A CRANE ROLLER #169611, 576/598, 284/292, SPRINGS AND1.7 ROLLER ROCKERS WERE ALSO INCLUDED. I RUN LIGHTNING HEADERS NO REVERSION PROBLEMS.

I wasn't aware there was a "marine" version of the 502/502 crate engine. Do you happen to have the part number? Is that a long or short block? Thank you.
