Water Temps?

1992 Hustler with twin 500's carbs, Bravo 1's

Replaced Impellers last season
Water cross overs, No stats, no restrictor plates

1 engine is running 30 degree's hotter then the other at times, esp when I romp on it it climbs up above 185-190 maybe higher, but then dives down after I get off throttle.

This is not my boat it's my friend's so I 'll if i can get more info about his probelm

The only thing you can do is back flush the cooling system and make sure the manifolds are clear of debris.

dennis, whats a good way to do that. Ive got a freind with an alpha setup, that i think part of the impeller is stuck somewhere in there??

The impellers didn't break apart on him and he has CMI exhaust

Remove the water hose from the cross-over, and the out hose from the raw water pump. Take a garden hose, and shove it in the cross-over hose. Turn the water on full blast. That should flush any impeller bits from your coolers. If you don't find anything, remove the plastic elbow, (where the in water hose goes) from the T/A. See if there is any restriction in that hose.

I see that you have no restricter plates and it still gets up to 190 deg there is definatly a blockage some where. Flush it backwards a few times and remove the drain plugs in the bottom of the motors. If you go to the beach alot sand collects at the bottom of the block. Run the motors with a hose with the drain plugs removed for a few mins to flush the sand out. Check the coolers also. Flush them with a hose backwards. When you get the problem fixed you will def want to get a resrticter plate to get the motor up to temp.
