gimble bearing alinement

How do I know if it is on, or how close does it need to be? I have the tool and it slides in and out. Just not sure if it is to tight. I had imagined it like a guy and girl :D guess it might be. Serously when do I no I have it adjusted right, or good enophe. All help or coment apreciated. Rag's

Sounds like your OK. At Mercruiser service school they say it should slid in and out with a couple of fingers around the shaft. Are we still talking about boats?

The tool has to bottom out easily and You should be able to remove the tool with very slight pulling.

I am in headed to the bedroom to check for proper drive allignment.... I will let you all know how it goes :D:D

put some grease on the end of the tool and insert tool,look at the imprint of the splins in the grease. should be evan all the way around.and slid in and out with out binding.pull strieght out to get a good imprint

The roll then engine 180 degrees and check it again to be sure the coupler is centered on the flywheel, some are not.

I found when they are right when the tool is pushed in rather fast will bounce back a little, if too tite it will have no rebound
