Building a bigger bulldog
 
Ok here's what i'm looking to do............

build a big cube bullet proof engine , natural carb motor, making say from the 500 - 600 H.P. range max....
And a torque monster

Starting with the block - Dart Big M Short or tall deck??
Maybe large Oval port heads.....?

Looking for some imput on this.....

I know i know, been here done that.....
You engine guru's don't want to give away the secrets..
just wanted a few opinions
on specific parts
dart big m ? tall or short deck?
rotating assembly ??
longer rods = better geometry ??
pistons?
Heads ?
cubic inches 540, 565, 572 ???
remembering i'm looking for mild bullet proof engines

I would go tall deck if you dont have stuff you need to re-use. Most parts cost the same either way, and in theory there are some slight performance advantages- also wear advantages. Less side thrust on the piston may result in better ring sealing, and piston skirt wear.
