v-hull or cat?
 

Would you guys recommend a cat or a v-hull? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? Thanks alot guys!

I rode in a 103MPH whippled 28 Eliminator the other day, we were hitting waves at 90 (ones that would make the baja airborne at 50) and you couldnt feel them. I say a bigger cat.

If cats are so great, how come I don't see very many where I boat, on Lake Michigan. Don't get me wrong, I like them and have even considered getting one, but why don't I see that many?

Insurance and the lack of cabin space are major drawbacks.

Do believe I would love a cat.Never even been in one.But my choice of a V has been good for a family boat and by that I mean that at the age of 13 the look on my sons face when he got our 27' to 70 mph was priceless.I also sometimes let his friends drive and you know that makes him a big dog in there eyes.I just don't think my paints could handle the strain if I had bought anything faster though.:D

The boat used to be a racing boat. It won twice in Sarasota then the previous owner sent the boat to a boat shop to re-enforce the haul, re-paint the . He was planning to go with additional horsepower. He spend approx. $22,000 getting this done. This was 4 years ago. He found a bigger haul (51 ft) that's how I obtained this haul. The boat has been in a warehouse for 3 years. The boat has 4 gas tanks, the transom was sent to get closed, it's ready for rigging. The hatch was stolen off the boat. The engine compartment, since they stoled the hatch, the paint is peeling just a bit. The stringers and everything else on the boat is solid. I don't have anything else for the boat.
