Drive lowers itself - while sitting??

During the last few weeks my starboard bravo drive (while on the trailer) lowers itself very slowly - checked the fluid level - it's fine. Now while I was running over the weekend it looses trim on it''s own. Anyone have this problem ? seals going bad? it the hy. rams??

Most of the time, it's the seals in the rams. Buy a kit, cheap and easy to fix.

happen to me last week. i think it call the pinion seal or something like that

It can also be in the pump
check valving too.

Raise up the drive, mark the
level of the fluid on the pump plastic reservior,
If the check valve is leaking, the level
will rise, if the cylinder(s) seal(s) are leaking,
the fluid will bypass to the other side of the
ram(s)

If no fluid leaks are visible anywhere then you have a bad check valve in the trim pump. Try replacing the fluid in resevoir and see what happens. Sometimes it will clear itself up.

Had the same problem in a older boat, no leaks, it was a check valve

thanks for the replies OSO - how hard is it to replace the check valve?? what's involved??

Had the exact same problem. It was the valves in the pump.
