406 Stoker with missfire

I have 118 hours on this beast, all is well untill I moved around in my slip. started O/K, moved around, stop engine. 1 Hour later go for a ride, started with a miss and backfired, ran with miss for about 5 minuits. cleaned out after that. I smelled unburnt fuel while this is happening. What was this problem, Bad Marina Gas, or reverversion. I spoke with marina Mechanic, he stated that all boats useing marina gas has water in it. thus this is your problem. I change fuel filter yesterday and noticed alittle water in fuel. Hmmm, sh!t Gas. Now what, pull boat every time to fill with street gas, wow, there must be some other way to resolve this. Or am I just nuts. B3

Mercruiser makes some excellent fuel treatment that absorbs water in the fuel and keep changing those water/fuel separators. You have the same problems that we all have with marina fuel!

Thanks for the reply Dennis.
I will look into the additive from merc, What about octain
booster additives. Any good ones out there I can use. Because I am going to the Bahamas in 3 weeks. last time there I got a boat full of swamp gas to come back to the states, was hell on my engine. What can I use to add to fuel to make it better without adding Achohol to already crappy fuel. Tahnks B3
