575 SC tweaking??

Ok, my new (to me) boat has been in the driveway almost 12 hrs- time to start tweaking.

It has a single 575/ITS/XR labbed 28 1.5.

I prefer to use Dustin's intercooler kit (720-730HP) but it needs 1.625 more room I believe. I've only got an inch to the Hatch now and a scoop is not going to happen, prefer to avoid an insert. Does anyone offer a lower profile arrestor or two separate arrestors for the two TB's?? An inch shorter element would do it "IF" it would breath well enough??

Unless I find a solution, I'll have to go with the Arizona S&M kit at 650 ponies- I'd rather get all there is to be had- without messing with my Hatch.
Thanks!

I ended up using an automotive part and wrapped screen around it to give it a flame arrester look. K&N filters can be squashed down an inch or so and still hold their shape. Otherwise you are looking at getting your stock arresers fabricated. Cutting the bottom of your hatch for clearance sounds like it might restrict airflow.

I've seen hatches and the plywood backing on the uholstery cut out about 2" larger than the flame arrestor size. You just put slide 2 polished 1/8" thick pcs of stainless sheet into each opening from the bottomside and slide them into place between the foam and the plywood backing and the upholstery still feels fine over it. Once you can get them in place, you can 5200 them in position.
