If your ingintio module overides timing adjustments?

This came up in another thread. I have a 92 OMC King Cobra with electronic ignition. I believe they called it their Spitfire Ignition. I cannot adjust my timing by moving the distributer as it just readjusts the timing back where it wants off the flywheel trigger Im assuming. Are there any other options short of a new ignition. I doubt anyone has tinkered with an OMC module either.

There is nothing you can do. The timing advance is set in the module and the initial timing for idle is fixed at the sensor and flywheel magnet. You need a new ignition system.

Thanx again Dennis. I hate anything that is tamper proof!

Me too, I like having some way of screwing it up!

can't you move the pickup to alter the trigger point?

I'd expect that you could still use your crank trigger to fire a Crane box and you can choose from several advance curves that are built-in.
