Jason,
I had a shop in PA, I think in Sellersville do my vinyl on my 25 Thunder that was multi colored. He did a great job and many people when looking at it could not even tell it was paint. If you want I can e-mail you a picture of the boat so you can see his work and get you his phone number.

Milord-now this is my own opinion. I'm just posting it because the topic has come up, I realize that it's unsolicited.
In all honesty, I don't care for the graphic. I feel that the colors don't work with the boat, that the text is too tall, and that in general that names don't work on the side of a boat. Also a graphic that large would need to be seamed, and can easily cost 4 digits.
Here are my suggestions: If you put a name on a boat, it should go on the transom. Try to use the colors that are already on the boat. But you need to limit your self to a max of 2 colors. One color actually would be preferable.
You apparently have done some work on the graphic. If that's true, then you have become too close to your work. Try setting it aside for a few weeks and then pull it out. What is your first reaction? Well, what you feel is what everybody is going to feel when they see you boat. Now adjust the grapic to correct that one thing and then set it aside again. Don't force your opinon, listen to your first impression-it never lies.

hey cord,
transom thing would be great but I dont have one, have an integrated swim platform so no transom space to put it
I created that name and graphic so yes I am attached to it
On the other hand I see your point how it does not work with it
That was why I was tinkering with different colors under it so it would stand out more
i can sew something similar on the engine pad and seats ect (yeah I sew !!!!)
Baja was overly conservative with their graphics back in the day in comparison to todays standards. We all love the new outerlimits and cigs and sonics schemes
just coughing up 15-20 grand for airbrushing is a little out of the range for most of us
I was just trying to add wild colors with minimal cost and the rainbow was the easiest way to go that I can tell
Im going to replace all the labels on the boat that say "280 ES" and "BAJA" with chrome vinyl that im pricing out now
dare to be different
did you see the teal and black scheme on the site? or the magenta sides?
it is tough cause I want to keep some sanity to it as well as be wild

Just one other consideration with size and placement of letters. You might want to make them smaller and farther forward so they're above water with the boat at rest in the water. It looks from the photos as though the back would be under water. I dont think most vinyl lettering is supposed to be under the waterline anyway.
I ended up with smaller letters in the middle of my 38' Scarab and was really happy with it. I can Email a photo if you want to check it out.

Sure ,
can email me pics at [email protected]
LOVE the 38 scarab
always one of my fav boats of all time
Almost (and should have) bought a 87 38' larry smith
for 20 grand at RPM down in NJ
nice boat, basic but had MAJOR MAJOR potential -- wish I had bought that but at time had no 1 ton truck to pull it with so It would have been a lawn ornament
had twin 420's in it too
anywho, yeah any pics of schemes would be greatly appreciated
Thanks and Ill keep in mind the waterline issue, never struck me cause she sits on the trailer at home not in the water
Thanks
