509 dyno results

I had one of the Cigarette engines run on the dyno to see what it would make before freshening them up. I'll post the graph as soon as I get it but the top number was 610 CHP@5200.

Crazyhorse 09-30-2003 02:08 PM

yeah, horsepower is like crack cocaine. you just gotta have more. Cubic dollars is all it takes.

Crazy, what kind of torque was that bad boy twisting out?

Brian Kamrath

Have you ever weighed actual dyno results against a computer simulation like desktop dyno? I've done it in the past and the numbers were remarkably close. Just wondering what your experience has been.

If crack cocaine is like horsepower...take me to rehab.:D

Crazy... we want the torque numbers.....thats what pushes that slug!.....Fred

Just talked to Crazyhorse at the dyno shop and he told me he pulled the spark arresstor and bolt from it off and the engine without any other changes pulled 644 hp....the rest of the numbers will be coming...Fred

dyno 09-30-2003 05:48 PM

34 Hp from the spark arrestor????? I thought he quit smokin that stuff!!!Thats it the scoops are on order now how do I distract my wife while I cut the holes in the deck lid????

Crazyhorse 09-30-2003 06:38 PM

Yeah, it was a surprise. The EGT numbers went up along with the horsepower, and the boost went up slightly. Unfortunately the reason these engines have a very short flame arrestor is because the blowers place the carbs right up against the hatch. The hatch has already been raised about 5 inches and there's no more room to be had.

fred 09-30-2003 08:34 PM

I guess I'll have to take those blowers off your hands to take care of this problem!.......HeHe....Does someone make low profile hi-flow models that would fit and still be U.S.C.G approved?....Fred

fred 09-30-2003 08:35 PM

One more question Crazy, what kind/brand of exhaust are you running?....Fred
