No water out of CMI header!
1994 CMI elbow top header, had minimal water flow. Sometimes at top end there was no water coming out. If the system was perfect, new impeller etc. it worked. Last week it caught some weeds and fried itself. Hoses cooked, changed colors, toasted.
Upon further investigation, the incoming four water ports were manufactured badly. The space between the inner and outer exhaust pipes was so minimal it was causing a restriction. Any reduction in water pressure and no water on just the one side. CMI says they are too old for any factory help. I am posting this to help others who may have encountered this problem. This used to be my boat, and I chased this thing for almost 2 years. John B |
Every header sold by CMI has been flow checked and should have a F stamped on the flange. No header is to old to not deserve any factory help. Send the header back and I will have it flow checked.

jrz,
Thanks for the quick response. I will have the shop (Excel Marine) call CMI and send it to them. Is there someone special they should talk to? They were not given a ROG authorization as of now. Thanks, John B |
Ask for Randy or Jeff B.

Do you have sea-strainers?
|
Yes on the sea strainers.
