How reliable were these motors? Were these 502's or 540's? Would the new 575 pretty much replace this motor (besides the EFI)?

And lastly how easy are they around the docks. Are they fussy at idle or do they maintain their hum from idle to WOT.

They were 502 twin carb supercharged. Very reliable and yes the new 575SCI is very close to the 600SC.Drive abiltiy of these engines was o/k not great. That is why Mercruy Racing put injection on them.

Different sized blowers though. That 575 has a much smaller blower.
