Old sbc ignition control module

I tow my boat with my old 1984 chev 4x4 truck. The truck came stock with a 305 and i just put a universal 350 in to it.

The ignition control module is different for the 305 and the 350. The engine has a 4 barrel on it. Has anybody tried the different computers? I have the old 305 control module in my truck. Is there an aftermarket computer that works? Will it help with gas mileage?

Does anybody still remember. It is the one with the computer under the dash behind the glove box.

Thanks

I think an easy way out is to convert over to an earlier HEI distributor and eliminate the computer.
