TORQUE AND HORSEPOWER- Hot Rod Mag

In the Jan '04 issue just out, is a good article about this topic.
One example they use is a Ken Duttweiler 528CID twin turbo Chevy big block.

5250rpm 1700TQ 1700HP
5600 1750 1825
6000 1725 1925
6400 1750 2140
6800 1900 2400
7200 1925 2600
7600 1920 2750
8000 1800 2700

max 1943 lb-ft @7200 and 2753HP @7700rpm
with 23 pounds boost!

Those are insane hp/ci #s, however I think the longevity may come into play in anything other than a drag car.....(you may get 5 or 10 min @ WFO in a boat), what a great 5 or 10 min though :)

10 pounds would still be 1200HP. Would that last?

Marty I went 180 hrs. before a rebuild on a 1200hp twin turbo 572. So yes it can last.

Man, that's gotta hurt the "oudrive repair" pocketbook.
