Fresh Water Flush
 

I was looking at adding a flush kit to my boat. It is the kind that you splice into the hose to the freshwater pump. Does anyone know if this will send enough water to the impeller in the outdrive to keep it from burning up?

Are you running an alpha outdrive? This system works great on my Formula, but I have Bravo drives and no impellers in the outdrive.

One of my boats has an Alpha, one has a Bravo.

Only if you turn the water hose, "ON!" haha.

If you don't supply water to the leg of the Alpha you will burn up the impeller.

Stainless Steel Marine has a tee that is designed for Bravo applications. It has 1-1/4 runs with the side port 3/4". I bought one from CP Performance end of the summer. Under $30. You cut the raw water hose going to the sea pump and install the tee. I am working on the best way to run fresh water to the branch. My concern is to shut of the fresh water line with a valve so there is NO chance of sucking air with the engine running and over heating the motor. Once raw water is hooked up and turned on, the water back flows thru the Bravo outdrive intake. Once the motor is started, it pulls in the water it needs and any extra goes out the drive. The main problem I have with the SSM tee is that there is only enough length to get one hose clamp on each hose. Would like to have two. The Bravo pump only has one so I guess it will be OK.
