502 efi upgrades or pro-charger?
currently have a 1998 502 efi with rev marine exhaust , adj. fuel reg, k+n air filter, msd ignit., and az speed and marine ecu prog., tyler crockett has cam change ecu prog. and head work for $1500 for 75-100 hp. the m3 pro-charger with 3lbs boost has 100+ hp. which would be best perf. and reliabilty?

Performance and reliability should not be used in the same sentence
Leave the boat alone, You dont use it anyways Jill told me !!!! |
If buying the PC new, and you only want 3lbs of boost you can get that from an M1 for alot less than an M3. Now, if you plan on upgrading later then go with the M3.
As far as which way you go. You have to take the motor apart one way. The other way is a "bolt on". Sorry, you're gonna have to make that decision. :) DAVE |
dave the reason why i chose the "m3" over the "m1" is because the m3 can be run with 89 octane fuel and the m1 needs 92 octane , this is what is in the pro charge brochure .
|
Well, the M3 will give you plenty of room for upgrades in the future.
However, I personally wouldn't use 89 with boost. I wouldn't care how cold the charged air is. But hey, that's just me. DAVE |
Hey 26Sonic, did you get a speed increase with your mods you have done so far?[exhaust, fuel reg. , ecm. cal. } I was wondering what you think about the revolution exhaust,? fit, finish ect.
Thanks Mark R |
h2xmark the mods i did did'nt gain me really any thing to speak of ! the rev. marine exhaust is nice , i am labbing my prop for this year because i'm only turning 4850 rpms and should be running 5100-5200 wot to get the most out of the mods and exhaust. this is what i was told from todd the owner of rev marine comp.

thanks for the info, I am getting ready to do a few mods myself on my boat, I just hate to let go of the money though!!!!!!!!
