HP loss with timing gears?

anyone know the pros and cons of gear drives?

I have read that a Gear drive can transfer "Harmonic Vibration" from the Crank into the valve train .On a marine engine that is operated at the same RPM for extended periods of time this could perhaps cause premature failure.

Hi Rob glad I picked up on this post, I have been giving serious thought about a set of the Noisy Gears. Where can I find the info.

Thanks
Phil
