Thanks rm builder, I'll check that link out.
I did some more measuring and think I know the source of the clatter. The fulcrum ID on the roller rockers measure .440 front to back and about .442 side to side. So they are out of round .002. I measured the ID of the stamped rocker ball pivot from a set of heads I ran last year. They were round and measured between .433 and .435". This excess clearance (.005 - .009) over the stamped is letting the pushrods clank around in their guides. Guess I will be ponying up for new rockers. Which Harland Sharp rocker style do you guys use? Dave |
What do you guys think about me switching back to the stamped rockers (stock) if I can get the valve train geometry to work out?

Sutphen 30,
That price ($182.00) is for the small block set I believe. Herbert has the bigs for $202-$222 (cheapest Ive seen). If you want to shop price go to the Harland Sharp link above and try the distributor page or call and they might deal direct. Ive used these for 30 yrs and they really are a quality product and a great value. Bob http://www.herbertperformance.com/cg...at=435&vend=93 |
Email me for where I got that price.
