I have just purchased my first boat. It is a 36.5'Abbate Offshore with twin 454s it has approx.540 HP per engine.At 4200rpm it goes 50-52 mph.I have 3 blade props.I have done a little reading on props but would like advise on how to determine the best prop.It seems like my boat should go faster at 4200 rpm.

Thumper1,

Can you provide some more info on the boat?
What props do you have now, drive type, drive height (where the prop shaft is in relation to the bottom of the boat),boat weight, beam. Any more information would help.

Thanks for the reply.I am not sure about your questions I will try to find out the answers this weekend if I can get down to the boat.
