Gaffrig Depth Gage

I have a Gaffrig depth gage and all it wants to do when it is on is show a 4' alarm on the display. It never reads the depth of the water regardless of what I do to the gage. Would this be a transducer problem or gage problem and has anyone else suffered a problem like this before.
Any info is appreciated.

Stepped Hull? Where is your transducer? I have a single step and my transducer is transom mounted. It works great at rest and idle. Anything over a fast idle I don't get any display at all.

been there.

If nothing has changed with the transducer.
Make sure it is still secure to the hull.
It is probably the gauge. Call livorsi, they were
very helpful. I mailed it on mon. took the boat
on a trip fri. with the new one. Good luck, John

Guys,
The transducer is hull mounted. I'm running a 24 degree deep V bottom. When I purchased the boat it did not work. It looks like the transducer was moved once as you can see where the adhesive was when it was installed the first time. My other boat the transducer was transom mounted and it worked great other then when you got up to speed as well.
John who is Livorsi and how can I reach them?
Thanks guys for the help,
Mike
