Teak Repair?

I removed the slotted teak swim platform for all little off-season refinishing, but now I'll be doing a full rebuild after finding a crack and some evidence of a couple rotted pieces.

I'll do some initial searching while anticipating sticker shock for a completely new replacement swim platform, but what would really help is if there's any experienced repair houses out there specializing in this type of work that someone has had real good luck with.

I've repaired several teak swim platforms, from cracked ones,to ones that have been smashed, have also replaced them with plastic fabricated ones in either white or black,PM me if you need some help!

I have replaced individual boards before, but it has been a while and was still quite expensive.

The best places to fix that kind of stuff are sail boat places. They ussually have the best wood workers. My fathers sailboat got his by a guy and he took a HUGE chunk out of the rail. When the guys were done with it in Maine you could not even see the repair at all. It was quite amazing. I mean NOT AT ALL.

There is a "penetrating" epoxy available at boat places. It is designed to soak into damaged wood to restore strength.

Without seeing your wood, I have no concept if this is an option.

I used it on some of the mahogany on my boy's Whaler, but it was not for rot, just for some splits it was developing.

The prices seem just too good to be true. I wonder if the switched prices of the 80" and 90" are indication of other inaccuracy. i'm certainly calling Monday!

Yeah buddy, let me know how it goes. That could save me a lot of heartache trying to fix my platform too.
