I always strap it down. Better safe than sorry.

Yes, strap it down. I just towed a 357 Formula 2,300 miles (from Lake Champlain, VT to San Antonio, TX). I can GUARANTEE that a 10,000 - 12,000 pound boat WILL move on the trailer without straps. (I learned the hard way - luckily before it was too late!).

Strap it down.
