operating rpm for a 454mag
 

Can someone tell me what the max rpm is for a STOCK 454 mag MPI 385hp. Also, what rpm is the rev limiter suposed to engage at? Thanks

Rev limiter, I';ve heard different numbers, but Merc says its 5050, some say 5100.

Yes, I agree. Operating range is 4600 - 5000rpm (you want to be at 5000). Rev limit is spec'd at 5050 but is sometimes different.

FYI, the components of the motor are actually good to run reliably at 5400rpm.
