Pro Charger???

I've been readind the treads about the Rtech intercoolers and have a ??? Could you run say 9.5 to 1 compression with the Rtech and a small Procharger or Vortech??? I think you can buy them used fairly cheap and buy the Rtech and make great power, then if you sell the boat later you can take the blower off and it would still perform well with the compression.... Just thinking out loud.

Is a pro-charger better than an amateur-charger? :frog:

Dave step away from the pain killers!!

Dyno, have you run your package through Desktop Dyno with both naturally-aspirated and supercharged? I'd think your setup would run fine with 3-4 pounds boost.

Nope.....

Dyno, I got two small nuclear reactors off E-bay

Hey, I was high bidder on two small nuclear reactors and I was thinking your boat would be the perfect testbed for my latest project. Just think- you'll never need to buy gas again. And you can get a nice suntan even when it's cloudy,,,, Do I have to register these with the NRC?

Dyno, So far (2 seasons) 502 stock internals, alum heads 9.1-1roller cam on a 114 c/l ,30 deg of timing, 9 psi boost @55-6K rpm no trouble. Pulls great! Greg

wow junkie thats alot of boost for that much compression.... what are the fuel requirments?

Crazyhorse 01-16-2004 08:19 AM

Dyno, Flatlander has Probe pistons on their website, they appear to be SpeedPro knockoffs, and they're reasonably priced. Take a look.

I just makesure I use 92-93 octane if in doubt I occasionally add octane booster. Some pumps have only 91 octane. I run the motor 110 -120 degrees. Also you have to remember that this boat is not run at full throttle for more that 10-20 seconds Then back down to 2-3500 rpm (cruising speed). After a top speed blast the temp only rises to 140 or so. I think that if my boat were a big heavy offshore machine, and or if i really loaded the motor and lugged it down to say 5000 rpm @ top speed and held it there for say 30sec-2 minutes and let some serious heat build up I would have more troubles. Does that make sense? I dont know for sure. The plugs look like new with no signs of detonation compression is good 160-170 per cylinder ( which is High) According to the guys on this forum I have too much compression and too many rpms and too much boost. I am probably on the edge. Greg
