supercharged stroker
 

Hey all. If I were to upgrade the internals of my 350 mag mpi by stroking it to a 383, adding all forged rotating assemblies, aluminum heads and free-flowing exhuast, could I then add a supercharger without fear of scattering the engine? I guess the question is can I add 100 to 150 hp by stroking the engine and adding performance parts and then another 150 hp or so by adding some mild boost? Wondering if there are any limitations to the block, etc. Thanks in advance for any input.

Need a 4 bolt block or aftermarket main caps for over 500hp in my opinion.

You won't see 100hp just by stroking it.
Cam, heads, intake, and stroke job will give you whatever you want.

There have been a bunch of GM 350 blocks. Some more suited for harnessing 600hp than others.

Ask Traviss. He's got a multi-season smallblock runner.

mc: what is an aftermarket main cap? Head gasket?

Main cap is the cap that holds your crankshaft to the block. You need a four bolt setup in order to prevent the crank from twisting under high hp/rpm applications. The general consensus is not to buy a block with 2 bolt mains if you plan on running more than 300hp, even still I would sleep better knowing I have a four bolt setup no matter what the hp or rpm.
