Can I join the trailer queen club?

Just wanted to share...

Jon, thanks for posting about the chainsaw. Oh yeah, that is the hot ticket for getting the foam out.

The Magnum will be getting new engine stringers and a bulkhead infront of the engine. We'll see what else there is to do as the project continues.

Here's another shot

You're REALLY getting involved there, aren't you. Put a lower (shorter) windshield or screen/fairing on there to give it a sleeker look.

Wildfire 01-25-2004 05:34 PM

David, a race fairing is in the plans. Not sure if one will be fabbed out of aluminum or go with a 'glass version like Jon did on the Formula.

And yes, just a little involved. It is kind of like, well, you know, this all started with one stripped out screw and then....

That is too funny a am laughing so hard because I know what you are talking about

I guess I don't know the meaning of "trailer queen." I was expecting to see some naked chick spread-eagled across a MYCO. Damn, I'm disappointed.

Glad the chain saw trick helped ya out :D:D

Looks like a project worthy of the club.... Welcome.... I think :D:D

Scott ... you know I take a deep personal interest in that ...:D

That looks almost as bad as my Donz does right now !

Was the trapped water caused by no drain holes at the aft ends of the stringers ? I can't believe Magnum did that .

I Want to see lots more pics .

Steve

Steve,

There was water trapped by the upper stringers (under the circular saw) and there is water standing in the gas tank well. I have not yet found any limber holes for either to drain. Before this goes back together, there will be a way for the water to come out.

Keep in mind that I pressure washed the heck out of this thing a couple of weeks ago and shot water into places that would normally never get wet.

I'll keep the pics coming.

Hi Scott ..

The fuel tank well should have at least one drain hole at the rear .... I have a feeling there will be no limber holes ..blocked or otherwise

That blue (for the hull) is'nt too bad actually...if Awlgrip made such a colour we probably would have used it .. looks nice and retro/classic....I like it simple !

Hey one suggestion. Make sure you shure up the sides of your boat with the deck off. If you let it sit like that for a long time the sides will start to fall out and when you replace your bulkheads and such you be in BIG trouble.

Jon
