HP500 rebuild cost?

whats the cost of a full top and bottom end rebuild for a pair of 500s?

While doing it, it might be worth only a small additional to add a longer crank and make a 540 out of it. The price of alumn heads these days it makes more sense to add them instead of rebuilding yours. You can buy a 540 shortblock for under $5000 and heads for another $2000 and then sell your longblock intact for $2000.
Or sell me your motors complete.

If you take it to a reputable shop and they machine everything to factory tolerances I'd expect to spend around $4000. That should come with a written warrantee, usually 12 months.

I do the HP500 to 540" conversions for $4,750.00

Eagle or Scat crank and rods, J&E pistons, Crane hydraulic roller, Isky red zone lifters and springs. Including all "routine" overhaul parts, machine work etc.

Have two in work now.

infomaniac, is it just as easy with the efi version? What hp do you get out of the conversion?

I need to do My hp500efi soon.

648 HP requires a few more hundred RPM than the stock rev limiter allows to get that HP.

Have not done an EFI. It would require a reprogram of the ECU. I would be happy to take care of the long block portion. Not sure who to recommend for the ECU.
