A friend of mine ;) has some numbers to run through a DD can somebody run them?

Craig

Crazyhorse 01-27-2004 03:00 PM

Sure. post everything about the engine and exhaust plus the cam card information (lift, lifter type and valve opening/closing degrees) and I'll run it.

Biggus 01-27-2004 03:27 PM

Can the DD2000 run a blower motor combo?

What about this package:

MarkIV 454 .060 over

GM cast iron rectangle port heads

8.25:1 comp.

671 blower/Superchiller 750 Holleys

Comp Cams hyd roller CB3376/3377 .613 intake/.613 ex
[email protected], 240in/250ex 114 lobe separation

CMI headers

Thanks!!!!!

Kurt

Crazyhorse 01-27-2004 03:43 PM

1600 hp, a gazillion ft.lbs. of torque,,,,,,,,,,,,
just kidding. can you give me the cam card specs? If not, get me the intake c/l. I also need the belt drive ratio to get accuracy.

Biggus 01-27-2004 04:14 PM

I do not know the blower pulley specs but I am running 8 lbs boost.

The cam card I have right here, the duration @.006 tappet lift 295 in/305ex

open close
valve timing at .050 int: 6 btdc 54 abdc
ex: 59 bboc 11 atdc

these spec for cam installed at 114 intake center line

duration at .050 240in 250ex

lobe lift .3610in .3610ex

lobe separation 114.0

Thanks Crazyhorse!

Crazyhorse 01-27-2004 04:39 PM

Biggus, you're going to think these numbers are crazy. 760hp@7000, 659 tq@5500. That's figuring 50% efficiency on the intercooler and 1:1 belt drive. You're probably underdriving the blower so a .8 would probably be more realistic.

Biggus 01-27-2004 04:44 PM

Yikes!

What does it read at 5800rpm?

Thanks again Crazyhorse!

CrazyHorse,
You have a PM. Sorry about sending it twice! AOL:hothead: at home and it didn't recognize that it had been sent.

That's alright.

GM990 heads with 2.19/1.88 valves ( flow #'s from chevperfmagazine)
CR 8.25:1
750cfm carb

belt ratio 1.00 intercooler eff 50%
Small tube headers no mufflers
hyd camm using seat to seat of 295/305 on 114 lift .613/.613
( i also tried the .050 numbers and the program showed little less power that way)

sorry about all the decimal places that just what the program does

Thanks for your input. I have two 750 Holleys on the blower. Could you run it again?

Thanks,

Ursus, did you run it as a hydraulic roller cam?

Crazyhorse 01-28-2004 08:20 PM

I changed to the street blower, ran some different airflow numbers and went with a .7 underdrive on the blower and still came up with 683hp@6000, 658tq@4500

RickR 01-29-2004 06:18 AM

How about a

Note DD's prediction of what a combo will produce can be fairly accurate or is sometimes off quite a bit, it is best at comparing what happens when you change one parameter like the CL

I got 830 hp at 5500 on 116 octane with a 85 % eff intercooler! All on "Engine analyzer v3.0".

Why would you run 116 octane with a CR of 8.25:1 and 8 psi of boost, that would prob run on 87, but certainly 91 would be enough, it would make less power with 116

John B 01-30-2004 08:15 PM

My program uses correction factors for air temp, humidity and barometric pressure. At the SAE 60o air etc. it detonated on 93 octane. It will run fine with 90 degree air and 80% humidity with 93 octane, but horsepower was down 100.

BTW, 800 hp is a better number, I made a mistake on the input data. John B

WETTE VETTE 01-30-2004 08:46 PM

Try running this combo for me!!

598" BBC (4.600 X 4.500), naturally aspirated, 10:1 compression ratio, Dart 355 Pro 1 CNC heads, solid roller cam 264/270 duration at .050", .711/.721 net lift on 114 + 4 installation. Carb is a 1500 CFM Holley Dominator, exhaust is full runner header like a CMI Tube Top with 32" runners and full MSD ignition. Intake is a match ported Dart single plane.
Thanks,
Craig

Crazyhorse 01-31-2004 11:35 AM

You need to post the cam timing events for us to run the program.

WETTE VETTE 01-31-2004 04:45 PM

Here are the .050" cam timing points with the cam installed on 110*. IO 22 BTDC, IC 62 ABDC, EO 73 BBDC, EC 17 ATDC. Do your dyno programs actually have Dart 355 CNC ported heads?
Thanks,
Craig

Here is a screen shot of the pics on heads Wette Vette. The airflow file is really a necessity from my limited experience because heads make such a huge difference in results.

John B 01-31-2004 07:40 PM

My program shows 700 to 765 depending on the eff. of the heads. My program doesn't have the 355 cnc so I used ported 360's for the higher number. Peak was in the 55-6000 range.

Big Block Billy 02-03-2004 12:16 PM

I have the Dyno 2000 and think it needs more specs stored in the program so that the user can jump around with different actual mfg part specs without entering alot of info. BBB
