HP500 Valve Seals

I will be changing the springs on my HP500s soon. I also bought two sets of valve seals. I understand that I need to remove something on the exhaust valve seal before installation. I will need to figure out what gets removed when I see the seals.
Do I need any special tool to install them or do they simply slide over the valve stem?

thanks
Shawn

I've been told not to use seals on the exaust. There's no vacuum to draw oil into the chambers so there is very little consumption.

There's a tiny wrapped spring
near the top neck of the seal.

Take a small pick and pop them off,
they don't fight too much;)

I just used a socket that was just big
enough to go around the neck, as a driver,
then just push them on by hand.

If your changing seals for the small added expense definitly use seals that have viton inserts. They can take extreme heat and are the best available. Use valve seals on both exhaust and intake valves and don't pop anything off of them they were designed to run with.
Most seals of this type are just designed to push down firmly over the valve guide boss. Make sure they fit snuggly over the valve guide, if they don't you have the wrong size. Good Luck - Raylar:)
