Go with the stainless if you are going to put it in salt water... Flash plating will be gone in a couple of dunks in salt.

We use both the tie-down and Kodiak brakes on the trailers. Request are about 50/50 between the two. Prices is same for either.

Kodiak has a CAD coat, ECoat and Stainless version, Tie down are stainless with a Ecoat caliper.

Tie down has the advantage of a stainless rotor and an aluminum ECoat caliper at an economical price. Pads are unique to Tie-Down.

Kodiak Stainless includes a stainless caliper and are double in price. The Kodiak CAd coat is comprable to tie down in price. These are vented disk brakes with a removable rotor you can turn and large Marine version of the GM calipers. Brakes are GM pads.

Bake pad surface area is probably double on the Kodiak.

Both offer reliable and smooth operation.

Again, both are great brakes so weight out which features are best for you. Be sure to use a coupler set up for disk brakes. You can modify your coupler if you are converting.

This is the tie down
