454-502 & 500 EFI Dist-cap & Rotor #

U can Save some money$$$$$$$$

My buddy at MSD said the cap and rotors on the GM dist-Are the same as a the 90's style camaro caps. Just make sure they have the brass or tin coated brass terminal, He said the ones they have at MSD are the same as the ones from NAPA.

In stead of buying the high price merc. cap and rotors the ones at NAPA are.

Cap # RR249 Cost of 16.12 Regular price of 32.50

Rotor # RR250 Cost 3.19

This is a wholesale price .try to find someone at Napa to bill it out to a business like the telephone co or repairs shop some big business to get the discount.Tell them you want to pay cash on so&so acc .

The ones at O Riley's look cheap. the Accell one where tan and the housing on the cap looked thin.

The caps From GM may be cheaper than the Merc and be a good quality??

Are said caps explosion proof so they can be used in an explosive atmosphere ( your bilge with a few gas fumes) like the merc ones ?

Merc Caps are less than $25, a bargain compared to a bilge fire.

The Merc dist is the std GM part. It is designed with screens from GM and their is nothing special about the cap. This style GM dist was used mainly on GM fuel injected vehicles up to the mid '90s and most of the vehicles had fuel rail or fuel line connections near the dist. But if you insist on the Merc part, you are just buying a reboxed piece.

I pay $23.10 and $11.10 for my Merc caps and rotors, respectively.

I bought GM delco parts before. I noticed the inside of the cap contact points whatever they are called. They burned out faster then the Merc 1 and corrosion set in also replaced it with a Factory Merc part and ran great again
