GPS Speedo's
I was wondering does the receivers for the GPS speedo's have to be exposed for them to work or can they be tucked away???
|
My "Puck" as they call it, is under my fiberglass/wood fairing. So, no. They don't have to be out in the open.

I allways heard that the antenna/puck had to be able to 'see' the sky/satellite. But if it works under the deck that's great.
|
we have 2 antennas mounted under our kevlar deck and 2 under/sides of our canopies.

Wow a thread that shows proved facts:eureka:
Mine has been under the dash for two seasons with zero problems. If you have not mounted your tattletale switch yet you may want to consider a switch that matches or even an empty acc. switch that you can change over to a momentary switch. Just a thought (can you tell I don't care for the switch it comes with).:D |
Great. This helps squelch an old myth. Now on to more practical info. Who has the best deals on analog complete GPS units both standard and Monster series?
|
I'm with Scott, use switches that match. I had a new switch panel made with engraving for the GPS switch.

I like the digital better. You can see exact speed & can tell when you over or undertrim very quickly.

Try Fred. He's just getting into this business.

scott,
that is a good idea. what do you have to do to do this? Originally posted by Scott Wow a thread that shows proved facts:eureka: Mine has been under the dash for two seasons with zero problems.
