Fresh Water Cooling vs. Raw Water Cooling and....
Hello
I have a 1989 23' Donzi Regazza that has been out of the water more than in. Learned a lesson. Anyway, I need to replace my engine and I had a thought. While installing my new engine would a fresh water cooling system help with the life of my engine? Also, what is truly the difference between an automotive/truck engine and a marine engine other than the fuel pump, carb., electrical system, water pump, and head and intake gaskets? Maybe one day it will be offshore...heck any water would be nice. Any thoughts would be great. SE |
Southern the automotive motor is very close change a few components and you have a marine motor. Cam,head gaskets, oil pan, carb.windage tray to name a few...

There are quite a few differences in the marine engines, especially on the accesories.
Closed cooling will definelty prolong the life of your engines. There is a thread here just a day or so ago about it. |
