The PUMP has to be mounted below water line. Of course the thruhull fitting is below water line, but the PUMP must also be below the water line and there must be a continuous rise to the pump to make sure air pockets can't sit in the line from thruhull to pump.

I was paying attention, there is a spot right above the thru hull but still below the water line that will be a great spot to mount the pump. Dan |
Make sure the heighth of the discharge thru hull is 10" or less from the the water. Otherwise it is noisey as the discharge water hits the sea water.

The larger the discharge fitting is, the quieter the water splash will be.
Also, use a thru hull with a sharp transition from the ID to the flange. The radiused ones tend to encourage part of the stream to drool down the side of the hull and stain it. |
