500EFI fuel presure problems

I bought the Arizona speed -regulator kit that makes it adjustible . I did the instalation like it says .i noticed that they change the color now, At first it did not come with the springs and they sent them to me and didnt make any diff- . on one motor it will not ajust down far enough.its between 45-47 psi Too much presure .Its running rich at this pressure on this motor.I called asm and they were NO help.Has anybody had any experance with some thing like this.

Rob,
If I were you I would send the whole regulator back to the guys at AS&M and let them bench test it. Sounds like the diaphram might be bad or the regulator is stuck. If you put the regulator together, make sure you didn't put the internals in backwards. When the pressure reaches the desired setting the diaphram sould open the port to the return line and bleed the pressure down to the setting.
Good Luck
Raylar;)

Raylar the kit uses the old regulator on the fuel rail ,I cut the top part off and this is a cap with a spring that pushes on the old diapham. It will raise the pressure but want let me lower it low enough.I asked the people at asm for the gm # on the regulator and 3 different people there gave me 3 different part #'s:hothead:The one from Merc is about 130-140- then I cut it. The gm is $40-60 for the same thing .Just need the right #.Even Merc high per in Florida gave me 2 different #s.Seems nobody knows.
I tried calling ac delco which manf the regulator to try to get the orifice size and flow # they said they don't have those king of specks. supposedly he was one of the engineers

Why are you playing with the fuel pressure? Have done other mods?

started out the gages where off. So I installed then and got a good gage and read it off the fuel rail to get the real pressure. there has been some work done to the motor and ASM recommended a higher pressure that stock. Now one motor is rich at Idle and lean when its running.i just bought some MSD boxes to see if it cleans up the Idle. I have also have to do some thing about the Gaffrig Livisri gages.

Has anybody used these regulator kits ???
