XR Drive Gear Ratios

Is the XR made with a 1.36 ratio or only available with a 1.50 ratio?
Thanks
Craig

The XR gear ratio is established in the lower unit gears. If you're buying an XR drive consider changing out the upper vertical shaft to a Bravo Shop solid shaft. it requires different bearings but eliminates one of the weaker links in the drive system. The regular XR shaft, (which goes thru the clutch pack) is about 5 inches long. it's rifled bored in the center and then cross drilled for oil flow. This weakens it and most of them break at an oil hole. With the race cage bearing replacements and the new shaft, you don't need the oil flow thru the shaft. This by no means makes an XR bullet proof, but does reduce one of the more common failures.

Good luck!
