Docking in Racine?
|
Downtown42,
No, Milwaukee this year. I sold my other Business in Racine, moving Back to Milwaukee. I have had enough of Racine. I found a face pier on the River by the old Fire station. No neighbors at all. Just need to cruise my 390 down from sisiter bay to Milw'. Then I am a Happy man. Boys in there toys, no cleaning involved, just $ for fuel. B3 |
Where is the old fire station on the river? What name is your boat?
|
North of the water street Bridge.
1 building north of Fire station that is next to Bridge. O/K behind shoe polish factory. Nice spot off water street south of I94 two blocks. Boat has never been named. Just Document # with CC. I will be there I hope around Late April. Maybe sooner. B3 |
The only thing injection will give you over "properly jetted" carbs is that the injected motor will start instantly when cold. That's all.
Buy kits for your carbs. Get somebody good with QJets to fine tune your metering rods for cruise jetting. There's no good solution for your cruise speed on the 390. Those boats came in 2 flavors: fast cruise (diesel) or slow cruise (gas). The diesels would cruise 23 kts. The gas, 17kts. For 18,500 pound cruiser, there is no substitute for torque. No incremental hop up will net you anything noteworthy on your 330's in that boat. Anything short of a B&M blower will be wasteful. Not trying to burst your bubble, but that's what you're facing. Probably somewhere around 0.6 mpg |
Yeah, fuel will be alittle harsh for this 390.
But, this is what i wanted for size, confort for a live aboard. ofcourse travel will be Priority. Every thousand I get will go to Fuel. Ouch!, did I just say that. Yeah, she is a Beast, but a pretty beast. This Sea Ray is my Extension of Hmmmmm. B3 |
lol. Small world. I personally remodeled that fire station. There used to be slips across the river at the cold storage plant, but it looks like they are remodeling it to condos. I also did the condos just across the water street bridge. They have finger piers planned there, but the DNR is not allowing them. You will want some extra fenders for this location. The tug pushes a barge up to the power plant and has to twist around to make the bridge and the canal. He'll throw a bit of thrust against the sea wall there and will cause your boat to move around. You can actually keep your boat at this location year round. The waste heat from the power plant doesn't freeze the water.

Funny how you say Barge going to Power plant. I am the fool on the barge going to the Power plant.
I work for Kadinger Marine in the summer as a Barge *****. Good money to tan all day. But sometimes tuff work also. I will not do that this summer, plan on some R&R this year. My body is getting tired. B3 |
