Alpha hinge pins

Does anyone have a good resource for changing hinge pins on a Gen 1 Alpha?

You can buy the tool from Merc (9/16" 12 point allen) or use a regular 9/16" allen wrench. You may need a little heat where they thread into the "bell" housing to break the loctite loose. Oh yeah, it's easier if the drive is still in place when you break them loose.

Merc tool# 91-78310. Fits Alpha,Bravo,TRS. Good tool to have and its cheap.

I would recomend you buy the tool. It is cheap and makes it lots easier. I have had to heat them slightly when I have done them in the past. Not too much heat though, aluminum can fool you and be getting way hotter than you think.
