Proper K-Plane Mounting

I mounted 110s kplanes on my boat after I riiped the cheapo Bennets off by a bad landing off a wave. I think I mounted them too low. What distance is usually left from the plance seat to the bottom edge of the transome. My first project of the spring my be to remount them.

My template shows 7/8" from lower plate to bottom of the boat

Actualy the distance can very from boat to boat actual dialing in buy factory is best mine are flush on port side and about 1/2 or 3/4 on the other. Its to comensate for torque thrust with a 7' beam

mine are 1" up from the bottom. If you put them to low they tend to grab at that water and sprey all over the place.

I think I only have 1/2 inch. I put them in the original bennet locaiton. If I trim all the way up, I'm sure they drag. I am sure that even when I trim them "even" thay still scrub off a couple mph.

Even though my Baja is considered a tub on the board here, I should be seeing more speed with a blown 454 in it... I get 72mph at best with a Bravo 1 26 labbed. Handles great, though.
