Default Bravo1 oil capacity w/o reservoirs?

Changed my gear lube today and on both outdrives the fluid was coming out of the vent hole after 2 1/4 quarts. Is that right? I let them drain for 30 minutes each. I've never had a Bravo that didn't have the reservoirs.
