Use the search feature. There were a few threads on the topic just recently.

I use Guard Dogs. http:\\www.guard-dogs.com

Check out an OSO advertiser. Bomber2000.com I think. I purchased a couple pair and they seem like they'll work great. To top it all off, they float too. The prices are right as well.

Are there any options that you know of if you need
prescription glasses?

z.zuperboat 04-06-2004 11:22 AM

I WENT TO MY LOCAL MOTORCYCLE SHOP AND PICKED UP A PAIR OF RIDING GOGGLES THAT LOOK LIKE SUNGLASS FOR $20 WORK GREAT.PRICE RIGHT.

I'm running oakleys wires with a prescription in them and they work great till you turn your head sideways at 100!

20 dollars is the right price! Headed to the harley dealer in town....

ISurvivedMNU,

No offense but have you checked out BOMBER 2000 ?

Their prices are great AND all of their glasses float. Great customer service and easy to order.

Goggles may not look as cool or on a hot day, be as cool but after trying varing types of glasses ... I like the goggles. When running hard they keep the wind any any spray out. I switch to sun glasses when the throttles come back and it is time to look cool while backing ino the dock space.

I use Spy's on the boat. The "Microscoops" have a raised cheek pad and eyblow so they seal right against your face and block the wind. The arms have vents in them so they dont fog.
I ordered the bomber's a few days ago but havent gotten them yet.
If your going to replace the lenses with prescription glass I would recommend not spending a ton of dough on sunglasses. Most of what you are paying for in high end glasses is the lens.

Check out Spy Microscoops;

Dang
Just went to get the link for you and they have a bunch of new lines as well as prescription lenses.

I did look at hte cherry bombs... and i like them... It would be nice to try them on before you order....

The spy eyes look cool too...and i found a dealer in my area.... I did not get a chance to price them...

Guess maybe i will have to buy a few and test them out.... This would be a great product for the site to do a product reveiw on.... At least for quality, since everyones face is different....

Dave1972 04-06-2004 03:24 PM

A product evaluation by OSO members. I would be willing to do a product review if I were to have all of the products in my possession. A collection of sunglasses isn't something I'm interested in though. Of course if they were free, I'll be the first to start writing the review :):):)

I'd even be willing to check with these manufacturers to see if they would provide item(s) for the review.

Is there enough interest in this?

boatguy 04-06-2004 11:49 PM

Go to a Harley dealer. They have a high quality set of a foamed-framed goggle-combo sunglass if you will.Interchangeable ear loop or strap. Both stay on extremely well at speed.(90)You will spend 150 for the good ones but they work!!!

I have was thinking about a pair of these. They look like they will fit the bill and they have a polarized pair too.
Not to bad of a price.

"Taken from link above"

Goggles ~ The current goggles used by Marines received very poor feedback. They were too large, did not seal properly, and the lenses often popped out of the frame. Numerous Marines purchased goggles that were smaller and better contoured to the face. One such version is the “Panoptx” brand; Marines were enthusiastic about these goggles and asked for the USMC to field a similar version

I have checked out the glasses tha tBoatGuy mentioned. They definately work, and are interchangeable from goggles to glasses. They run from about $100 up.

After sinking more than a few pairs of Oakleys over the last few years, I found these UV3 goggles in a kiosk at the airport. They look like sunglasses, but have a strap.

My kids ride me endlessly, but they stay on, and they work. No more watery eyes, no more glasses presses against the face, and best yet, no more glasses bye bye when you turn your head.

And you can always switch back to glasses when you get back in the No Wake Zone!
