Well I will get the heads back next week so I will let you know what they say.

This is very typical of sbc heads. The first ones to go are always 3 & 5 and or 4 & 6. This is because that is the hottest part of the sbc head due to the fact that 2 exhaust ports are so close together. Guides should automaticly be replaced anytime head work is done.

Spoke with the machine shop and they are replacing the guides with K-Line Bronze guides.......
