How many quarts of oil in a #6

How many quarts of drive oil does a #6 hold?

Falcon 04-10-2004 01:19 PM

The drysump is just over 4 qts, after a filter change (the nose cone holds over 1/2 qt). The wetsump holds over 4 gallons, without a spacer. Does that help?

$ gallons:eek: Sounds like a drysump motor on a race car ,Just dont have to change the drive oil every race.

an additional question to the #6 drive, how often(hrs)should i remove the drive and lube the u joints?i have 40 hrs from last year only.

Falcon 04-12-2004 12:54 PM

I usually recommend once a season or every 50-100 hrs, which ever comes first. The main reason for the once a season is to see if there is any water in the bellows. It's also about the right schedule to put some of the proper lube on the driveline slip splines.
