Weber 4 Barrel Carburetor
 

Iwas told once that when adjusting my Idle mixture screws I could use a RPM gauge and when turning the screws I should go to the highest point off rpm and that would be the seting of the mixture. Is this true or are there other better ways to do It.

MACDAD I'm curios where you ended with your jetiing.I have a very simmilar setup to you.Mine is a marinized zz502 with straigt out exhaust and 9022 carb.Right now I am 90's in the front and 98's in the rear with 6.5 power valve.The engine is new so I am not doing a lot of high rpm testing.It seem real hard to get color on the plugs.I went way rich on the primaries and worked back until the transom soot and rich smell went away.The secondaies don't open until 3900 rpm.It runs good now but seem to have a bit of a stumble around 2000 rpm under high idle load.I don't want to lean out more and risk a mid rpm lean condition.I was wondering if I might need more initial advance to smoothe it out.I am using the stock mark v module (24*).When I get into the power valve curcuit I am still rich but I don't have enough hours on the motor to bag on it at full throttle trying to set up the jetting.I am thinking I might jump to a bigger power valve and smaller secondary jets.My jets seem big to me now from what everyone else is running but I noticed from your previos threads that you wre pretty big to.I should mention that I am at sea level.Got to go I'm trying to grt on the water today.
