34" Bravo One Props

I looking at going to 34" Bravos and recently heard that these were the worst props Mercury made and that I would be better off twisting my 32" props up for more pitch. Does anyone know if this is true?

Don't know, but I have a pair of labbed 34's that I bought from the Zipp Express guys. I like the Q5s on my Spectre better. Let me know if you are interested.

they are not any different than the rest ,they are all good. for the most, if we are talking stock props.:D

you just need some muscle to turn them.

34 Bravo 1's Labbed, turned them 6400 rpm on 1:26 Bravo XRs about 50 hrs never any problems and they still look new.

We have not noticed any particular problems with the 34's. What's a little different about the 34's and 36's, compared to most of the other Bravo 1's, is that they are actually 15.25" in diameter.

As far as increasing the pitch on the 32's, you can only get 1" of a true pitch increase when up-pitching a prop.

On my application, I actually saw a increase in slip resulting in lower speeds and the motor running on the limiter with 34's.

Props?

Randy
what are you trying to do? I have all kinds of props that will fit your applications. I just received (about a month ago) a pair of 6 blades for my Cat. So I dont think that I will be needing all my Lab Props. I have a set of props that might be your answer. They were 32s and I sent them back to Merc and had them twisted to 33s. Need a set of labbed 36s,Labbed 32s,Labbed 34s or a set of Labbed 30s..(Sorta like to keep these for visting you on the river)
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you..?:D :D

Les,

Have you had the opportunity to run your new 6 blades?

Six Blade Props

Matt,
Nice to hear from you. As far as trying my new props out, the answer is No,but looking forward to it.. I had my heads sent to Charlotte for work and bought some more go fast parts. I just delivered them to my engine builder today. He indicated my boat should be done in about two weeks. I plan on trying the boat on the thirtys first as I have records of different speeds and RPMs with them. I up my boost by three teeth also, so I'm interested in seeing what all this money and work is doing for my boat before I check out the new props. as stated to you before I will let you know the end results.
With using the new props,if the performance is anything close as to what the prop maker and Teague marine indicated, I will be more than happy with just that..:D :D
The best to you and Marie, talk to you later..
