Fuel Pump
NEED AN ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP HOLLEY RED IS NOT ENOUGH THE BLUE PUMPS ENOUGH BUT ALWAYS HAD TROUBLE WITH THE REGULATOR.ONE MINUTE 5PSI NEXT 9PSI WHO USES WHAT FUEL PUMPS WITHOUT HAVING TO MESS WITH.I WANT TO SET IT AND FORGET IT.

Mallory 110, internal regulator. 140, requires separate regulator. Never a problem and the marine is the same price as the auto version!

I'm using a pair of Malory 140 pumps. I've never had a problems with them either. I added a return line shortly after setting the system up and it significantly reduced the amount the pump labored. I would recommend the addition of a return line for anybody running a electric pump.

WHERE WOULD YOU PICK UP THE RETURN FROM IM ASSUMING OF COURSE AFTER THE REGULATOR AND THEN PLUMB BACK TO THE TANK.WHAT REGULATORS ARE YOU GUYS USING.THE HOLLEYS ARE JUNK.

I used a Brary Grant return style regulator. I had a return fitting on my tank. Other people have inserted a T in their fuel fill.

CV Products makes a billet mechanical fuel pump that doesn't need a regulator ( 8 PSI ) I make 750+ HP and at WOT and 6800 RPM this pump holds steady at 6+ lbs. Works perfect with no hassels. It is a little pricey, but it sure beats all the issues with Holly, mechanical or electrical.

Aeromotive Pump and Regulator. No problems and the pressure doen't fluxuate!

I just went thru the same exercise, had 2 Holley Blues die last season.
I plumbed up a pair of Aeromotive Marine A1000's and their bypass regulators. Added return lines that dump into tee fittings in the fuel fill hoses. Don't have alot of hours on them this season, but so far they're doing well. Brian |
Areomotive pump and regulator and yes you will need to run a return line back to the tank. Do a search and you will see a project thread i completed on this subject.
