Problems with Idle
 

Seem to be chasing a aggravating problem with my SBC. After a cruise when I wind the rpm's down to an idle and put it in neutral my motor idles at approx 1100 or so rpm's. After about 20-30 seconds it winds down to "Normal" idle speed of 800 or so. Once it winds down I can rev it up and sustain any rpm and it will come right back down and hold at 800 or so out of gear. If I am cruising and come down to idle it will idle around 800 or so in gear and then idle down also to about 700 or so..Not a major problem here just annoying. Any suggestions.

Best way to do this? Can I just look down the bores?

When it does it again just manually push secondary linkage shut some more and see if this slows it down;)

Had the same problem. Just like everybody said, the secondaries are prob hanging open a bit.......

fixing it is the problem. On mine, it turned out the shaft was worn very badly and would bind a little bit to keep it from returning...
