250 HP to 300 HP??

I have 1994 Johnson 250 Ocean Pro, just bought a manual on it as this is my first outboard and I noticed it is the same displacement as that years 300 HP, what is the difference in these motors? what parts to upgrade to 300HP specs? my wheels are really spinning now!!!!

I am not sure about Johnson specifically, but Merc usually has upgraded intake and exhaust systems, different heads, and runs on 92 octane instead of 87 (minimum).
